Vibration-absorbing damper
The conventional damper used ina a sports clutch is designed to protect the transmission from shock torque caused by abrupt clutch engagement,it does little to absorb vibration.Efficient absorption of fluctuations in engine speed requires a very flexible spring and proper setting of the hysteresis torque.*1 The Flexibility of the spring,houever,is likely to run counter to the damper capacity. for this reason,CARBON-D is equipped with a new damper that features two stages – a low-load stage and rapid-acceleration stage – and which is perfectly tuned for each car type. The proper adjustment of both damper rigidity and hysteresis torque prevents gear noise in the low-load stage while the new highly rigid spring ensures high-torque operation in the rapid-acceleration stage. This tuning technology is available only from EXEDY, the specialist in clutch systems.
(*1) Hysteresis torquie can be compared to a shock absorber in the susupension system. It has the essential function of absorbing sound vibration by controlling the torsional restitution of the damper spring.

High friction coefficient, low wear, and a special heat resistant material"T5001" has been applied to enable the clutch size to be reduced which in turn lowers mass inertia and improves shift responses for faster gear changes particularly in racing applications. Durability is improved with the use of a stronger, smaller damper disc, designed especially for the Hyper Single clutch.
A clutch's inertia is measured by its ability to maintain rotation after stopping torque from the engine (E/G). Inertia effects E/G response and E/G torque. Low clutch disc inertia improves the effect of shifting up & down, as well as clutch engage/disengagement. In general, the clutch system requires adequate inertia, with lower inertia being ideal for clutch disc function.
40-level damper force adjustable. Front: adjustable pillow ball upper mount. Rear: non-adjustable pillow ball upper mount. Full length adjustable ride height (both front and rear). Recommended ride height adjustment range (mm): -15 to 0 (front) and -35 to 0 (rear). The image is a generic one. Choose spring rates. Compatible with e2 (00B 60J 1014).
