It should work on WRXs. I just try to retro fit into my 2016 Outback RHD, no luck. Factory comes with 5 pins, the full auto switch comes with 10 pins, even the full auto switch can fit I don't think it will work on my Outback.
Advice: always check connectors before purchasing. -

- Installation tips
To reach the switch is easy. Undo 2 screws, one under the door open lever, one inside the handle well. Then carefully pry the panel out. REMEMBER to lift the panel NOT pull out directly. Then remove several connectors and the panel is free from the door and you can work on it.
